It’s May Bank Holiday and the schools are out again, but feat not, there is something to appeal to everyone and keep the kids happy this half-term. SIMON PARKIN highlights some events and fun for all the family.

From the Fairy Fair to the World Snail Racing Championships, here’s a guide to some of the most interesting and exciting events taking place in Norfolk over the next few months.

You know you’ve made the most of our county when you’ve ticked off at least three quarters of our 50 quintessential Norfolk experiences.

Looking like they had been transported straight from a 1930s tea dance, the FB Pocket Orchestra brought the sounds of the early 20th century back to the Spiegeltent – the sort of music that would have reverberated around its mirrored walls at its creation.

Just the names of Haydn and Mozart are a promise of an evening of delightful music, and a large audience was enthusiastic in its appreciation of the performances given by the much-admired English Chamber Orchestra. It was led by David Juritz and conducted by David Parry, who is no stranger to Norwich.
