The fiancée of a man who was stabbed in front of his family on Mother's Day was herself attacked previously as part of the same long-running dispute, it can be revealed.

Witnesses have described how the partner of Danny Norman - who remains in hospital - was assaulted by a group of women at a Thetford petrol station close to the scene of the stabbing.

Sources in the town say the incident was part of the same ongoing feud involving Mr Norman and another group, which led to the attack on him in front of his fiancée and two daughters on Old Bury Road on March 10.Thetford & Brandon Times: Nuns Bridge Filling Station on Bury Road in ThetfordNuns Bridge Filling Station on Bury Road in Thetford (Image: Denise Bradley)

Two suspects wanted in connection with the stabbing - which happened on a busy road in broad daylight - remain on the run from police.

One has been named by officers as Elvis Price, 18.

Witnesses say Mr Norman's fiancée was assaulted by three women at the Nuns' Bridges filling station, about half a mile from the scene of the stabbing.

His condition is now stable.

Police have been criticised in the town for not keeping the public informed about the hunt for the suspects.

However, earlier this week they named Elvis Price and issued a photograph of him, taken close to the scene at around the time of the incident.
