A dilapidated barn with planning permission to convert into a three-bedroom home will go under the hammer at auction next month priced at a guide of £120,000-£140,000.

The barn is situated to the rear of a property on High Street in Lakenheath and according to selling agents Auction House East Anglia offers “great potential to become a beautiful family home with many features.”

Planning permission has already been granted to transform the barn, which is nestled amongst a number of other period properties, including the village church.

Auction House East Anglia, which is jointly marketing the property in association with Marshall Buck, says it is awaiting a “keen developer” to undertake the project.

Under the plans, the converted barn will offer a sitting room, orangery and kitchen, as well as an open-plan kitchen/diner and en suite master bedroom. There will also be two further bedrooms and a separate cloakroom on the first floor.

Access to the barn will be over a shared driveway, and once complete there will be the opportunity to create a private driveway and a garden within its plot.
