The new musical director, Christopher Wray, has put together a selection of spirituals and folk songs, perfect for a summer evening. Guest soloists are Mary Barclay, a local harpist and Christina Whyte singing mezzo-soprano in Feel The Spirit, a collection of spirituals superbly arranged by John Rutter. Among the well-known titles are Steal Away, Deep River, I Got A Robe and When The Saints etc.

The folk songs include a version of My Ladye Greensleeves by Henry Geehl and works by Vaughan Williams and Bob Chilcott among others. Chris Wray will perform some baritone solos by Finzi. Piano accompaniment is provided by Pip Jepson.

The concert starts at 7.30pm and tickets may be puchased in advance from 01842-890995 or 751276 for £6 (concessions £5), or £7 on the door.

For anyone unable to attend this Saturday, the concert will be repeated on Saturday, July 5 at The Full Gospel Church, Harvest Centre, Fengate Drove, Brandon.
