Things you can do to celebrate Norfolk Day in Thetford and Feltwell

It is a day to celebrate everything which makes our county wonderful.
On Friday events will be taking place across the county to mark the first ever Norfolk Day.
Here is what is taking place in West and South West Norfolk.
The Charles Burrell Centre will be hosting a fun afternoon between 12pm and 5pm with local food and drinks, tombola and traditional fete games.
There will also be live music, a Mr and Mrs competition and Norfolk gins and cider.
Children are free and adults will be charged £2 - proceeds will go towards the centre’s fundraising.
From 2.30pm The Thomas Paine Hotel will be holding a barbecue with local meats and a beer festival of Norfolk Ales.
Thetford Methodist Church will be holding a Norfolk Day flower festival with the theme Our Bootiful Norfolk.
Arrangements will include prominent Norfolk people, landscapes and attractions.
It will run from 10am until 4pm on Friday and Saturday and 12pm until 4pm on Sunday. Refreshments will be available.
At On The Green at the Riverside a range of activities for all the family will be taking place. An afternoon tea party for older residents in town, including many from the local care homes, will be held between 2pm and 4pm.
There will be flag waving as popular songs from the Proms which people are invited to bring a chair to and enjoy.
Later on in the evening popular Norfolk entertainer Gary Winter will be encouraging the crowd to sing along to many favourites from the past, including a few Second World War Tunes, as guests will be joined by characters including Dad’s Army, Thomas Paine and The Mayor of Thetford.
Intended as an informal fun day, the ride will also be raising money for the East Anglian Air Ambulance.
Riders can join and leave the route as they please during the event.
The ride will start in Thetford with riders asked to be at the Forest Retail Park by 8am.
The route will take in Diss, Beccles, Great Yarmouth, Hemsby, Bacton, Mundesley, Crome, Blakeney, Wells, King’s Lynn, Hunstanton, Downham Market, Southery and finishing back at Thetford.
A barbecue will be held at The Lighthouse in Walcott with bikers arriving from 11am,
A fete will be held in the village starting at 4pm to bring together the community. There will be traditional games, a barbecue, church tower tours and an annual Feltwell tradition, the jelly bean spitting contest.
The Fox Inn will celebrate the opening of its new kitchen by MP Elizabeth Truss at 12pm before a Norfolk Day celebration involving craft stall, Morris dancers and barbecue and Norfolk beers from 4pm until 10pm.
