Ooh-la-la! A French market is on its way to Thetford again.

Brunomart's French and Continental market will be in the town on Sunday as traders descend with an 'ambiance française' created by the French and Continental stallholders with their wares and fares in tow, transforming the Market Place into a French style boulevard.

Now in its fourth year, the market will see up to 25 stalls.

Traders will offer up tempting delights such as a wide choice of cheese, charcuterie and patisserie olives, cider and wine, (which can be sampled before you buy) speciality pates and mustard and spices.

There will also be strings of onions, shallots and garlic. Other products include Merguez sausages and sandwiches, Soupe de poisson and cassoulet and for the sweeter tooth there is a variety including honey, Belgian chocolates, confectionery and crepes with Grand Marnier!

Also on sale are household wares such as French African Art, traditional dolls, earthenware, Provencal tablecloths, leather goods and crafts including hand woven baskets, glass, candlesticks and ornaments.

Brunomart's co-ordinator Bruno Girardeau said: “We try to visit a British town once or twice a year to keep it a novelty experience. The response is fantastic. One of the reasons I do it is because we feel so welcomed by the town and its people who clearly enjoy part of the Continent coming to their town”.
