THE dominant beat of the dhol drum will resound through Thetford on Saturday as award winning world musicians Bollywood Brass Brand celebrate the launch of the Cultural Olympiad in Norfolk.

Brought to the county by Creative Arts East, Bollywood Brass Band are no strangers to London 2012 having played for the Olympic torch relay earlier this year in the capital. The glamour of Bollywood exudes through the striking costumes and intricate dance routines. The band's dynamic stage presence incorporates funky drumming and a hot six-piece horn section synchronised with video projections of Bollywood film and dance.

Beverley Bishop from Creative Arts East, who manages the Village Stage Scheme, said: “It is a great privilege for us to have the band perform here and it promises to be a spectacular performance. I'm particularly looking forwards to seeing the video projections of dance sequences from classic Bollywood films - guaranteed to get you on your feet!”

The event takes place at 7.30pm at The Carnegie Room in Thetford.
