Dogs Trust Snetterton is challenging dog-loving members of the public to take part in a Boxing Day dog walk across the Norfolk countryside to raise funds.

Manager Diane McLelland-Taylor said the walk was a good excuse to burn off Christmas calories and, more importantly, raised vital funds for the upkeep of strays and abandoned dogs.

“It would be great if we could beat last year's record turn-out and raise £5,000,” she added.

The four-and-a-half-mile walk will begin at 10.30am at Dogs Trust Snetterton on North End Road, Snetterton. It is open to dog owner and non-dog owners and those who do not have a dog of their own will be paired up with one of the centre's canine residents.

The route will take walkers through the picturesque surroundings of the Norfolk countryside including Shropham village. Once they return to the centre, walkers will be served with refreshments. All participants will also receive a Certificate of Thanks for their fundraising efforts.
