Hockwold Amateur Theatrical Society (HATS) is putting on the Irving Berlin musical Annie Get Your Gun later this month.The story is set in the 1880s and features Annie Oakley, a sharpshooter, who falls for Frank Butler when Buffalo Bill's show comes to town.

Hockwold Amateur Theatrical Society (HATS) is putting on the Irving Berlin musical Annie Get Your Gun later this month.

The story is set in the 1880s and features Annie Oakley, a sharpshooter, who falls for Frank Butler when Buffalo Bill's show comes to town. Frank, however, isn't interested in tomboys. Annie joins the show hoping to win him, but it is soon discovered that she is an even better shooter than Frank, causing more friction between them. Annie eventually throws a contest to let Frank win. His manhood restored, he returns her love and they marry. With lots of songs such as There's No Business Like Show Business and Anything You Can Do to name but two.

The show takes place at Hockwold Village Hall and runs from Thursday, March 19 to Saturday, March 21 with performances at 7pm and a Saturday matinee at 2pm.
