Thetford Singers will be back in St Cuthbert`s Church, Thetford, at 7.30 on Saturday with a selection of music and short readings for St Cecelia`s Day entitled "I Will Sing with the Spirit".
Thetford Singers will be back in St Cuthbert`s Church, Thetford, at 7.30 on Saturday with a selection of music and short readings for St Cecelia`s Day entitled "I Will Sing with the Spirit".
The main work is Haydn`s Missa Brevis with local soprano soloist Melanie Settle, and their are two Classic FM favourites - Faure`s Cantique de Jean Racine and Mozart`s Ave Verum.
The programme also includes pieces by Stanford, Purcell and Rutter, who composed the title song, and will feature baritone solos by the musical director Chris Wray. The organist is Christopher Bartrop whom many will remember as the Singers MD from 1995 - 2004.
Tickets for the concert are available at £6 (concessions £5) from the Riversdale Centre in Thetford (755039 am only), Not Just Flowers in Brandon (810528) or at the Church door. The price is £6 (concessions £5) and includes an interval glass of wine or fruit juice.
