EAST Harling recreation ground's 60th birthday is being marked with a weekend of sport, music and fun.
Highlights of the event, which runs from Friday, Saturday and Sunday, are a beer festival, open air concert, fun day and lots of sport.
For more information about the weekend, pick up a flyer from one of the local shops or download from the website www.ehssc.org.uk
The recreation ground was opened on 5th September 1948 as a 'living' memorial to those local people who lost their lives in the two world wars, and many months of hard work were needed to turn a rough field into a grassed area suitable for playing sport.
