Yet another late goal denied Thetford Town an impressive victory on Saturday, away at Norfolk rivals Gorleston.
The Brecklanders have been deserted by Lady Luck ever since beating Norwich City Under-21s in the Norfolk Snior Cup last month.
The latest near-miss was the third time Mark Scott’s side have conceded a late goal to draw a game in their last five games, including throwing away a 3-0 lead in the last six minutes against Newmarket.
Thetford took the lead at Emerald Park in the 28th minute through Oliver Standley but saw the Green equalise through Joel Watts in the 86th minute.
Scott’s side will hope for better fortunes when they return to Thurlow Nunn Premier Division action on Saturday, with a derby clash at bottom-of-the-table Diss Town. The Tangerines have won just twice so far this season and have conceded 12 goals in their last three matches.
