TEENAGE tennis ace Pippa Horn, from West Harling, got some Wimbledon inspiration at the weekend.

For the 13-year-old was lucky enough to attend the men's final at Wimbledon on Sunday, courtesy of British Tennis' lead partner AEGON.

She witnessed Roger Federer make history by winning his 15th Grand Slam after defeating Andy Roddick in an epic five-set match.

Federer eventually prevailed 5-7, 7-6, 7-6, 3-6 16-14 to reclaim the title he lost to Rafael Nadal last year.

Pippa, who has represented Britain at 14/under level, was one of four AEGON FutureStars to be given the opportunity of a lifetime to attend the final.

Pippa said: “It was such an exciting day. From the minute we arrived we had five-star treatment with lunch in the hospitality suite and tickets that meant we were able to see the action really close up.

“I couldn't believe how good a match it was. Both players were so determined not to lose and you could see how much it meant to them. The crowd were really into the match and I got some photos of all the tennis legends like Bjorn Borg and Pete Sampras who were in the Royal Box.

“I was supporting Roddick and it was obvious that he was pretty devastated at the end. I really felt for him but I'm glad I can say that I was there when history was made.

“Watching Wimbledon is so inspiring. I've never lacked motivation but having the chance to watch such an amazing final really makes me want to go home and get playing more so than before. I'll keep working hard and maybe one day I'll be entertaining the crowds on centre court,” she added.
