Last Wednesday's open 10-mile time trial organised by Cycling Club Breckland, using the popular Morley course, had a rather unusual line-up in the tandem event with five out of the six riders all members of the promoting club.

Martin Badham, steering his tandem tricycle stoked by West Suffolk Wheelers' Ray Legg, was first away from the start timekeeper followed by Don Saunders and Declan Davis and then Bobby De'ath and Iain Dawson.

Highly delighted to notch up another personal best time the Saunders/Davis partnership finished in 26:07 to come second to De'ath and Dawson with their time of 21:27 but beating the 29:21 turned in by the tandem tricycle.

First away in the solo event Emily Davis, Declan's 12-year-old sister, finished in 31:55 but it was club-mate Laura Robinson who took the fastest woman's award her 24:25, beating her nearest rival Gill Reynolds (Willesden CC) by over a minute.

Alan Newark, sometime Breckland member but riding for Planet X this season, was fastest overall in 21:05 with Geoff Muller leading the Breckland entry in 22:16.

Other times were C Nudds 22:45, A Stevenson 23:21, K Price 23:58, M Fairhead 24:21, P Hamon 27:29, M Hamon 28:29 and D Smith 29:54.
