Lyng's Ian Thomson was the star of the show at Swaffham Raceway on Sunday.

The current points leader won all three races in the Thunder Rods to firmly establish his position at the top.

He was made to work hard for his wins though, his margin of victory in his first race couldn't have been slimmer as he pipped Darren Wells (Potter Heigham) on the finish line.

In the formula's final he held off the challenges of Steve Copland (Norwich) and Kings Lynn's Danny Day to secure his impressive treble.

Gavin Nicholls debuted his very smart new car in the Mondeo Rods and took it to a heat and final double victory. The Norwich driver had to settle for fourth in his first outing, a race won by Poringland's Leslie Clarke. In their final Nicholls led home Sam Cole (Holbeach) and Clark.

Moving onto the contact side of the racing and in the F2 Bangers the very rapid David Gibson (Bourne) enjoyed two victories with Thetford's Tony Pallett winning their first race.

Following Gibson over the finsh line in the final was King's Lynn's Russell Gill and Rob Klyn (East Winch).

Special mention goes to Shelfhanger's Daniel Lathan who performed a spectacular rollover in the bangers first heat (pictured) while in the final Dersingham's Sam Coote had his car totalled by Fakenham's Mark Bear which saw the latter flipping his car onto two wheels in the process.

The ladies' races had three different winners, Wisbechs' Helen Licquorice and Weston Colville's Vannessa Santry winning the heats before Caroline Tillett reigned supreme in the final.
