Evergreens 4, Thetford Ladies 1

Thetford played away to Evergreens, with just 10 players, dropping to nine players two minutes before the end of the game, and lost 4-1. While there was excellent effort all round, there was a tremendous amount of running from Sarah Nichol, whose amazing shot from the top of the D clinched a consolation.

Charlie Harwood and Kathy Hammond worked hard to play the ball out of defence, with Sophie Kelly, Nicola Scarrow and Davina Rolph making great efforts in defence. Dawn Heavey's excellent stick work drove the ball up the pitch and intercepted at lightning speed to win the ball. Heavey made two spectacular sprints for goal, but one went high, the other wide.

A last-minute decision by the umpire led to several short corners, with Evergreens converting the last for their four goals.

PoM: Dawn Heavey, Charlie Harwood and Sophie Kelly.

Thetford Ladies 1, Panthers 5

On Sunday, Thetford Ladies took on top-of-the-league Panthers at home.

Driving down the centre, Panthers had two early goals, but Thetford pulled it back. Kelly was solid at the back with some fine hitting.

Laura Lister, Davina Rolph and Scarrow made some excellent stops and chased the ball out of the D.

Abby Rolph made some crucial stops. At half-time Panthers were up 4-0.

In the second half Thetford turned it around and made sure of their passes, finding their players and pushing back against the defenders. Heavey made a great strike to convert a short corner, with Panthers notching only one goal in the second half.

PoM: Kathy Hammond and Sophie Kelly.
