Past hockey players or people who just want to give the game a go are in for a treat this summer.
Thetford Hockey Club is running some hour-long sessions for anyone who wants to dust off their sticks and get back into the game – or who just want to try it out.
President Isabel Cockayne, who will coach the sessions, said: “You might have played when you were 11 or just last season, it doesn’t matter. We want you to show off the reasons why you want to play this fabulous team sport.”
The club is trialling different training days: July 20, August 1 and August 10 from 7.30pm-8.30pm at Breckland Leisure Centre’s pitch. The session will include a warm-up, some fitness work, followed by some time getting your eye in with the ball and then a short match covering a third of the pitch. It costs £5. Men, women, boys and girls over 15 are welcome. For details contact Isabel on 07535 976832, or email isabelcockayne@yahoo.co.uk.
