A losing draw at Great Melton leaves Thetford fourth in the early standings after a win and a winning draw from their other two matches.

Melton finished on 219-8, with Matt Clarke scoring 79, and Thetford held out at 183-8 to claim nine league points.

Elsewhere in Division Two, Saham Toney produced the bowling performance of the afternoon, dismissing Fakenham A for 49 after making 217-7.

Mark Hunter took a hat-trick in his 4-5 after Ben Smart had put his side in the driving seat with a half century, as Saham won by 168 runs to move up to third in the table.

Swaffham maintained their bright start in Division Three as they swept aside Vauxhall Mallards A, one of a number of EAPL second teams who have struggled during the opening weeks of the season.

Jasper Payne took 5-28 as Mallards were skittled out for just 120, a total the leaders got past for the loss of just two wickets.

Mundford suffered their first defeat of the season in Division Four, losing by four wickets at home against Winterton. The hosts batted first and scored 173 but saw Winterton reach 174-6.

There was a remarkable bowling performance from Dan Greyson as Thetford A won their first match of the season in convincing fashion.

The A team hosted Great Witchingham & Aldborough, who batted first and were bowled out for 103, with Greyson taking 6-25.

Thetford then raced to 105-2 to claim 21 league points.

This weekend, Thetford host Fakenham A and Saham Toney welcome Bradfield in Division Two.

Swaffham travel to Downham A looking to stay top of Division Three, Mundford head for Old Catton in Division Four and Thetford A are at Bradenham A in Division Six.
