A last-minute save saw Thetford miss out on the opportunity to beat the current Empresa League Division One leaders, Lowestoft Railway, as the match ended in a thrilling draw.

With first push back, the home side romped up the wing with Karen Hodgkinson and Hannah Spidy leading the charge, allowing Sarah Nichol to form the base of the triangle to drive the ball to the D.

The opposition found a gap in the defensive short corner to lead 1-0. It was a strike from Gerena, which found Hammond who levelled the score. Another short corner saw Lowestoft make it 2-1 but Spidy pulled Thetford level once more from a rebound.

Numerous more attacks from both sides looked threatening, but it was a massive strike from Hodgkinson which the goalkeeper saved on the toe of her kickers in the dying minutes of the game which was the only other ball on target for either team.
