Thetford Town skipper Liam Conroy was in superb form to secure the local bragging rights in an emphatic eight-wicket win at Saham Toney.

The victory keeps Thetford ahead of their near neighbours in third place in Division Two of the Dipple and Conway Opticians Norfolk Alliance, opening up a 24-point gap.

Conroy took five wickets for the loss of just 15 runs as Saham were bowled out for 104 at Pages Lane. The visitors then reached 106-2 to collect 21 league points from their success.

Division Three leaders Swaffham were beaten for the first time this season – losing by five wickets at second-placed Brooke A – but remain 30 points clear at the top of the table.

Swaffham were all out for 124, with Will Minchin taking five wickets for the loss of 59 runs. The hosts then reached 126-5 to claim the victory and 22 league points.

Mundford have drawn level on points with Winterton at the top of Division Four, taking advantage of the leaders being without a game.

A winning draw at Dersingham earned 17 points to draw level with Winterton, having scored 211-6 after batting first. The hosts then held out at 175-7 to avoid defeat.

A trip to bottom-of-the-table Great Melton awaits Saham Toney in Division Two this Saturday, with Thetford playing host to mid-table Old Buckenham A.

Swaffham will look to get back to winning ways in Division Three against lowly Bungay and Mundford have the chance to go top of Division Four, if they can win at home against struggling Garboldisham A.
