THETFORD hockey players returned back to winning ways this week after a shaky start to 2009, beating visitors Watton 2-0.

From the start Thetford had regained the passion missing from previous weeks and were hungry for the ball.

Thetford took the lead midway through the first half after Godbold jinked past the defender to square back for Blower to strike home.

Town went in to the break 1-0 up due to some excellent midfield work from Harper, Snow, Pandy and Blower.

In the second half Watton used their large squad to their advantage and with fresh legs started to put together some threatening moves.

Junior's great tackling was coming in very handy at the back with no forward able to get through.

In the dying moments of the game Godbold deflected a cross on to the post only for Blower to follow up on the rebound.
