Thetford athlete Tom Mead made further progress in the latest round of the Watford Open Meetings by achieving yet another personal best run for the season.
His 4:38.21 was good enough for sixth place in the 13th heat of the 1500m. Team-mate Joe Smythe also recorded a PB when running to third place in the seventh heat with a time of 4:56.31. Kieron Moody raced in the 10th heat, finishing in seventh place with a time of 4:52.35. Three Thetford throwers were also in action in Bromley as part of the UK Youth Development U17/U20 League Division South Premier 1 competition. U17 Mia Browne finished fourth in the Hammer Throw with a distance of 41.65m. There was a third place finish in the same event for Joseph Nicholson, registering a best throw of the day of 31.85m.
Jordan Turner, competing in a higher age group, recorded a fourth place finish with a distance of 30.03m, also in the Hammer competition.
