Thetford AC’s triathlon team visited to Stowmarket to take part in the West Suffolk Sprint (300m swim, 18k bike and 5k run) which was an England East Region League race.
Out of the 212 competitors Simon Smith was third overall and victorious in his age group with an impressive time of 56 minutes and two seconds.
His wife Charlotte Smith also completed the course in 1:02.08 to be first female overall which secured enough points to win her age group for the league.
Also amongst the field of athletes representing the club with some fantastic times was Karl Wright, who was 35th to finish with a time of 1:03.38.
Meanwhile Gary Malliband finished 42nd in 1:05.42, Steve Dickens 66th in 1:08.37, Brian Wright 158th in 1:23.00 and Lukasz Ryzinski 83rd in 1:10.48 despite getting a puncture during the bike section.
