DREAMY passing, using the length and breadth of the pitch, and some cracking goals clinched a fine hockey victory for Thetford Ladies against Watton III 6-0.
As always, Thetford came out hard and fast. Karen Spiller and Ziggi Clark gave nothing away, winning possession and chasing opposition down. Dawn Heavey made her mark early, with some fine dodging and weaving to gain ground. Tracey Newman worked hard with Sarah Nichol to worm through too.
First goal came from a battle in the D, with Spiller finding the backboard. Heavey took the second, cracking the ball, which hit the keeper's pads into the goal. Defence Sophie Kelly, Chris Church and Davina Rolph were so solid, supporting play and driving forward with the pack.
The ladies were still hungry for more, making some fine shots on goal - or over it - but the first half finished 2-0.

Watton came out hard and finally looked a little like they wanted a game. But the impetus soon left them. Newman's fine cross was tapped in by Kathy Hammond, and then Newman took her own goal from a great strike from Heavey.
But it was Heavey who finished with a flourish, one from a short corner straight into goal and the final goal a tomahawk off the offside.
