SIMONE Bull created a bit of magic to get Thetford Ladies II a 2-2 draw on Saturday against Harleston V.

Thetford Ladies travelled to Harleston with only 10 players to play the young team of Magpies. The first half was even with some strong defending from Emma Tilly, Dee Burris and Harri at the back, Magpies could not score. Jess Rundle had a fantastic game on her debut and saved lots of Magpies chances on goal. The score being 0-0 at half-time Magpies came out determined to score.

After a number of penalty corners even the strong defence could keep the ball out. With Magpies having a lead of 2-0, Thetford took a chance and pushed up front with more players. Paula Scott, Emily Heather and Leanne Smith all had fantastic games in midfield, dribbling the ball up and coming back to help defend.

Thetford had numerous chances on goal but even though Morgan Burt and Abbie Rolph gave all their efforts Thetford could not score. Things were looking bleak for Thetford until PoM Simone Bull carried the ball from the halfway line, through the Magpies' defence to a one-on-one situation with the keeper, she kept her cool and placed the ball cleanly into the goal.

With Thetford's spirits lifted the team once again pulled together with excellent tackling and marking. Bull then once again carved a path through the defence to net her second.
