Pre-season training is under way at Thetford Town and Dave Richards and Pat Armes have both put pen to paper after speculation about their futures with the club, as have most of last season's squad.

New signings include Pat's brother Henry Armes, Lee Brewer (who captained Acle United last season), James Pipe, Gregg Mann and Danny Lloyd from Dereham, Robbie Malone and Craig Atterton from Norwich United.

Steve Crawshaw and Ian Fancett have re-signed after a spell away, Tom Clarke from Attleborough, Fin Goodwin from Bungay (who scored over 30 goals last season), Cary Clayton, who had a spell with Long Melford last season, and Mark Kemp from Hingham, Willem Denmark and Lewis Holden from Wymondham College sixth form, and a Portuguese lad called Bruno.

Manager Mick Money said: “In all, 18 of the 24 players targeted have been secured and if the club is able to secure the other six, then they will have a good squad, with competition for places, unlike last season where players were virtually guaranteed first-team football.”

There will be a training session on Saturday, July 12, with a hog roast in the afternoon.
