Shropham bowlers get their hands on Watton Coral Cup

There was a good turnout for the ninth year of the Watton Coral Cup between teams from Bradenham, Connaught, East Harling, Hingham, Shropham and Watton.

Shropham took the title after their two rinks both recorded wins, with Hingham A finishing second.

Captain Robin Dawson, Richard Broad, John Shuttleworth and Pat Godbold won 21-18 against Hingham B while Kevin Tingey, Mick Godbold, Mick Savage and Beryl Dawson won 26-10 against Connaught A.

Watton were away to Swaffham in the ADL, losing 0-8 and by 39-69 on shots. Carol Relf, John Seage and Charles Newman lost 15-19, Jim Adams, Sonia and Richard Exley 15-19 and Margaret Bowdidge, Richard Relf and Kevin Simpson 9-31.

The EBA League home match against Northwold produced a 4-1 (55-50) victory for the visitors while the ACL match away at Diss District ended in an 10-25 (6-0) defeat.
