OVER 300 runners from all over the region converged on Croxton to compete in the annual Breckland 10k road race organised by Thetford AC and sponsored by Norwich and Peterborough Building Society.

After a scenic run from the centre of the village through forest lined roads, the first man to cross the finish line was Wesley Benton (Sudbury Joggers) in 33:15; almost a minute ahead of Robert Chenery (Ipswich Jaffa). First lady home was Jane Clarke (CoNAC) in 38:33 seconds, and in second Kim Lo (Haywards Heath) with 39:24.

A fun run for the junior athletes saw over 50 children aged four to 16 stride out, with encouragement from the spectators.
