Thetford Athletic Club's Rachel Mumford put in an excellent run at Alexandra Stadium in Birmingham to become Independent Schools Champion in the U13 Girls 800m.

She posted a cracking personal best time of 2:30.4.

The club congratulates her and also Ryan Skipp and Lucy Tyler for competing at Anglia Schools on Saturday.

Thetford AC had a fantastic turnout for their third East Anglia league meeting held at Great Yarmouth.

The sunshine was much appreciated after the rain we had on Saturday but the wind played havoc on some of the times.

A club spokesman said: “Well done to all those who competed and a special well done to some our new members on their first competition.”
