The midweek Cycling Club Breckland time trial was the club’s first open event of the year on the region’s fastest 10 course. Matt Cater added another win to his belt in the good conditions in an excellent time of 22:14, four seconds ahead of Mildenhall CC’s R Carrington and five seconds ahead of North Norfolk Wheelers’ K Read.
CC Breckland were out in force, with excellent times from Andy Tyler (22:42), Mark Fairhead (23:42) and Peter James (24:17). Emily Davis set another PB of 27:54.
On Bank Holiday Monday another event on the B103 took place, again in very good conditions. Declan Davis and Don Saunders set a blistering time on the tandem, completing the 10 miles in only 20:33. Peter James improved on his midweek ride, setting a time of 24:00. Tom Fitzpatrick made a return to time-trialling, competing for Wyndymilla Maxifuel, setting a PB of 21:20 and finishing sixth overall.
