Nudds leads CC Breckland time trial successes

Three Cycling Club Breckland riders travelled down the A11 to compete in Eastern Counties Cycling Association 10 mile time trial on the E2 course near Newmarket.

There were strong rides from Veteran rider Chris Nudds and Junior Declan Davis. This time Chris came away with a faster time than Declan, completing the distance in a time of 21:29, with Declan not far behind with a time of 21:58.

Also competing for Breckland was Declan’s older sister Emily Davis, who finished with a respectable time of 29.31. At the same event Danny Watkins and Peter James rode, both former members of Breckland now riding for Anglia Velo – Danny finished in 22:21 and Peter set a new personal best time of 23:24.

Following onto this, Sunday was the last open event organised by the Club, a 25 mile Time Trial on the sporting circuit course near Bungay. Six Breckland riders took part with Chris Nudds following on from his fine ride on Saturday to post a time of 59:47, Bobby De’Ath was the fastest CCB rider posting a time of 58:46, his fastest at the distance for 3 years. Young Declan Davis wasn’t quite so lucky as he suffered a puncture and was unable to finish the race, but other times from CCB riders were Mark Fairhead 1-04:13, Roger Graham 1-05:13 and Nick Parravani 1-05:14.

The event was won by Team Pedal Revolutions rider Mark Arnold in 54:49, closely followed by King’s Lynn’s Daniel Bloy with a time of 54:57.
