CYCLING: Chris Nudds, of CC Breckland, and Duncan Murphy, who is now racing for Diss & District CC, were prominent in the results of the Sporting Courses East Competition, based on time trials held on hilly or twisting country roads recently.

Nudds, from Norwich, won the Super Veteran category for riders over 60 and under 70, while Murphy was second in the senior (18-39) age category.

Placings in open events decide the results of a SPOCO competition, rather than fastest times, which depend so much on road and weather conditions being right on the day. The two highest scores were by men in the 40-49 age group, Lee Bark (Stowmarket & District) topping the overall list followed by sporting course specialist Glenn Taylor (API/Metrow). Emilie Fisher (XRT/Elmy Cycles) is the women's winner.
