Six Cycling Club Breckland riders took part in the Wolsey Road Club promoted 25-mile time trial on the B20/50 course near Wortwell, Bungay.
Riding their tandem, club chairman Don Saunders teamed up with 17-year-old grandson Declan Davis for the second week in a row, the pair starting off early in chilly conditions. Although the winds were light they gave neither help or hindrance, they rode well to record a time of 58.28mins.
In the solo event super veteran Chris Nudd rode best of the Breckland riders, posting a time of 1.01.37 ahead of Mark Fairhead (1.04.58), Roger Graham (1.07.28) and Nick Paravanni (1.08.06).
The men’s event was won by C C Desiragear rider Mark Arnold in a blistering time of 53.45, beating the course record by 24 seconds. In second spot was Team Velovelocity rider Danial Bloy with a time of 54.19 with Martin Reynolds of Cambridge C C in third spot with 56.55.
Winning the ladies event was Stowmarket & District rider Verity Smith (1.05.58) just a head of Wyndy Milla’s Isla Rush (1.06.30).
