Thetford athletes continue to compete well in races across the region with Jessica Norkett coming home in sixth position at the Anglian Schools Cross Country Competition in Northampton.
Norkett’s time of 13.39 was just 25 seconds off race winner, Grace Sullivan from Lincolnshire in a 75-strong field of athletes.
Despite missing out on the Anglian Schools through illness, Aiden Try, along with Jessica Norkett, will go on to compete for the Norfolk Schools Team at the forthcoming English Schools Cross Country Competition, to be held on home turf at the Norfolk Showground in March. The latest round of the Ryston Runners Grand Prix Series has taken place at Shouldham Warren with Abigail Clouston leading the charge of the junior athletes, finishing fourth in the U13 age group with a time of 12.55. Brother, Daniel Clouston crossed the line in a time of 9.24 in the U11 race for a 12th place finish.
