MUNDFORD Cricket Club held a charity cricket match in September which was instigated by Angus Ferguson who rallied round the villagers to form a team to challenge the club.

Paragon Print kindly sponsored the game and also donated a cheque for £300 to East Anglian Air Ambulance. During the course of the day a raffle was held which raised a further £100 for the Air Ambulance.

Robin Yates, chairman of the Mundford Cricket Club, presented Jess Down, deputy fund raiser for the East Anglian Air Ambulance, with the cheque and the cash at the club's weekly Monday evening committee meeting.

Jess thanked the committee for their efforts in raising money for the charity and said that it was greatly appreciated. Robin pointed out to her that Air Ambulance had occasion to land on the pitch two or three times recently to aid injured footballers on the adjacent football ground.

In appreciation of the club's fund raising Jess invited those that wished to visit the Air Ambulance Station at Norwich Airport, to inspect the helicopters and to see how the operation is run at first hand. An invite that will be taken up in the near future.
