Pro-Am Thursday saw a bright day with 106 players, including 18 professionals, taking part in the latest Winter Pro-Am series at Thetford Golf Club.

In the Professionals medal event Paul Maddy of Gog Magog showed his class to dominate. He made seven birdies including four in a row in a score of 67. In second place, four shots behind, came Miles Collins with 71 while four players were tied in third on 74.

Maddy’s amateur partner was his dad, Alan, who made a birdie of his own as the pairing finished three shots clear of second place with a 9-under par score of 63. Second were Adam Chamberlain and 1-handicapper Richard Cole with a 66.

In the Am/Am event experienced pair, Steve Plumb and Tim Smith produced a great round of golf to post a 5-under par 67. Having won together in November, they were forced to split for the December meeting but came back together with a vengeance, even though Tim was playing with a broken finger.

Trevor Cave and Mark Jackson weer second on countback having tied on 67 while Ian Carter and Gerry Day were 3rd on 68. The next event takes place on February 16.
