Breckland Barbarians Vets had their first run out against Norwich Union 2nds, winning 43-22. They were supposed to be playing a team from Wymondham, but after a late withdrawal, Norwich Union 2nds stepped into the breach.

Barbarians Vets are made up of players over the age of 35, drawn from the club sides of Swaffham, Dereham, Watton and Fakenham. Thanks to Hydratec, the team has a playing strip which is quartered and carries the colours of the four teams the players represent. The Barbarians ran in seven tries and converted four of them. They are next in action against the Fire Service on November 10, prior to Swaffham’s senior cup match at Watton.
