Fresh from helping his club to a national title, Thetford gymnast Ahmahd Thomas was on top form at the prestigious London Open at the Goresbrook Centre in Dagenham.

He gained a personal best of 81.1 for 9th place overall.

It was a great tournament all round for Thomas and his Huntingdon GC team-mates - as four of them were in the top 10.

Daniel Keatings took the gold medal, followed closely by Louis Smith who took the silver medal.

The bronze medal was shared by Kristian Thomas and Evgeny Gryschenko while club-mate Luke Folwell took the highest combined score for his two vaults.

Two weeks ago, team Huntingdon competed at the British Senior Team Championship in Ipswich.

Ahmahd was one of the five gymnasts who performed superbly over six pieces of apparatus to ensure that Huntingdon successfully defended their title of British Team Champions for the fourth year in a row and sending them home with the gold medal.
