In difficult weather and pitch conditions, Swaffham displayed great team spirit and rose to the challenge against Division One, third place team, Halstead Town, winning 3-2.

Swaffham took the lead through an 18th-minute goal by Keith Polski and for the first half showed that they were a match for the title challengers.

The wind and rain continued as the second half started and honours were even until Matty Kenny scored with a cheeky back heel from eight yards from a Polski pass.

It looked as though the visitors could get back into the game when they were awarded a penalty in the 75th minute.

The strike was brilliantly saved by keeper Lee Brookes! Matty Kenny then added to the Pedlars' tally in the 79th minute, again from a Polski assist. Halstead netted in the 84th minute and again in the 89th for consolation goals.

Swaffham Town FC are very grateful for the match ball sponsorship from Swaffham Conservative Club.

The reserves held Aylsham to a 2-2 draw away (goals from Craig Titmarsh and Luke Askew) and the A-team beat leaders Cockers by 4-1 (scorers Stephen Aspery, Lee Goodsell, Paul Pitt and an own goal).
