Spring-like days and lengthening evenings encouraged a good field of 21 riders to turn out for the first 10-mile time trial of Cycling Club Breckland's series of club events.
Making up the field were 10 from the host club along with one second-claim member, together with 10 visitors all keen to have a go on this rural circular course.
Breckland's Chris Nudds recorded the fastest time of the evening in 24 minutes 57 seconds, beating M Hudspith (Godric CC) by 22 seconds into second place.
Battling it out for points in the season-long competition Breckland riders Geoff Muller timed in at 25:32 followed by Mark Fairhead 25:49, then Myles Lubbock 26:51, Ken Price 27:03, Paul Hoggett 28:42, Paul Cross 31:21, Alan Holland 32:18 plus new recruit James Birch 30:45.
Fifteen-year-old Adam Cross continues to show signs of a promising future when he finished in 25:38 - third fastest of the Breckland squad.
Peter Hamon, Verulam CC registered 32:14 in the second- claim section.
