It was Captain's weekend at Thetford Golf Club .

On Saturday 96 men followed by 36 ladies and 26 juniors took part in three separate competitions followed by an alfresco carvery with dancing to the music of Tony Sanford in the evening.

Sunday saw a men's pairs Guildford greensomes competition involving 76 men followed in the afternoon by a mixed greensomes competition.

The weekend was rounded off with a buffet for members and friends followed by the competitions prize giving at which a cheque for £6,500 was presented by captain Lawrie Izzard to Sue Long representing St Nicholas' Hospice.

Men's Individual Stableford: 1 Mark Lamont 41 pts, 2 Gary Marvel 40, 3 Terry Pettitt 39.

Ladies' Individual Stableford: 1 Jess Redford 39, 2 Lorrell Turner 36, 3 Cynthia Thompson 35.

Juniors Texas Scramble: 1 Jess Dixon, Alisha Margerum, Kieran Stewart, Ben Elder and Ashley Wood; 2 Dylan Le, Alex Le, Ryan Tanner, Callum McGraffin and Nikil Tosar.

Men's Guildford Greensomes: 1 Vic Holman and Darren Gifford 46 pts, 2 Chris Evans and David Daniels 42 (ocb), 3 Brian How and Paul French 42.

Mixed Greensomes: 1 Martin and Ann Engwell, 2 David Newstead and Gill Burdett, 3 Chris and Liz Taylor.
