Young Thetford athletes Joseph Kirton and Rachel Mumford travelled to the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham to compete in the Independent Schools Association track and field National finals.
Both had qualified as winners in the regional competition in June and were competing as part of the team representing schools from the eastern region.
Rachel returned with two silver medals from a PB distance of 4.55m in the long jump and a PB time of 2:23.8 in the 800m after a very close finish.
Joseph was placed sixth in the 400m in 58.5 seconds, and then battled with a headwind to finish eighth in the 800m in 2:20.4.
A tremendous experience for them to compete in an international stadium and well done to both on their achievements.
