Freezing temperatures appear to have infected Thetford's game, leading them to leave themselves wide open to defeat in this hockey league encounter.

Thetford began strongly, although there was a lot of action in the defensive half.

Chris Church, Davina Rolph and Nicola Scarrow did excellent work to clear the threatening Watton forwards.

In the final minutes of the first half, Dawn Heavey converted a short corner to leave Thetford on a high note.

Static play and a lack of fitness ruined any chance of victory though. Watton came back strongly in the second half, scoring quickly.

Thetford held it level for ten minutes, with Kathy Hammond and Charlie Harwood making excellent runs. Leanne Smith and Sarah Nichol did good work in closing down the attacks.

Thetford drew the battle into the midfield, until they began to flag.

Spring is around the corner, and it should see a change in Thetford's season. Rudling Wakelam player of the match: Kathy Hammond.
