Thetford Dolphins kicked off the autumn and winter season by welcoming swimmers from 13 clubs in the region, to their annual ‘Nifty 50s’ Open Meet.

The event, held at Waterworld in Thetford on September 7, was exceptionally well attended, with over 1000 swims. The day included a visit from councillor Sylvia Armes, Mayor of Thetford, who presented trophies.

For the 57 Dolphins swimmers, over their 206 swims, trophies were awarded for six first places, eleven seconds, twelve thirds, 10 fourths, 14 fifths and 12 sixths, with 82 PBs achieved.

The Nifty 50s being the first event after the summer holidays, the club can now anticipate a busy few months with their Club Championships and the Annual Links Gala with clubs from Thetford’s twinned towns, this year to be hosted at Waterworld in October.
