Thetford's Lawrence Dodd slipped down the field in the Saint Omer Open at the weekend after making the cut in a rare European Tour start.

Dodd finished in a tie for 41st place after rounds of 74 and 73 gave him an eight over par total of 292. He improved his position the next day by reeling off three successive birdies at 11, 12 and 13, but slipped back after two more dropped shots.

Dodd earned 3,780 euros for his efforts, just under £3,000.

The French event was won by Englishman David Dixon, who finished with a sublime five-under-par 66. He fired four consecutive birdies from the seventh hole to finish one shot ahead of overnight leader Christian Nilsson of Sweden.
