BRANDON Town were comfortably dispatched 3-0 by Blofield United as the hosts looked to move into pole position for the Sterry Cup.
A very shaky start from Town saw them behind early after a wicked deflection left Corston flat footed. Blofield could have extended their lead further but some woeful finishing and a superb covering tackle by Horrex denied McKail. Brandon rarely ventured into the opposing half but an Edwards free-kick saw Tuffs head wide with the keeper all at sea. From a corner Tuffs saw his shot blocked but overall Town were fortunate still to be in the game at half-time.
With the wind at their backs in the second half the game was more evenly contested and Edwards shot wide from a sharp angle.
Just after the hour Corston came for a ball and missed and Durrant had a simple tap-in only to be taken out by Winstone. The referee had little option but to send him off and the resulting penalty put the game out of the visitors' reach.
In a purely defensive mode Brandon held out well in the last half hour and were denied a penalty when Peckham was pushed into the keeper by a defender, resulting in a free-kick to the hosts.
Blofield added a third late on when a questionable offside decision lead to a simple goal.
