The roads were emblazoned with Cycling Club Breckland’s yellow jersey as scores of riders competed in the weekend’s events.

Young Declan Davis continued his show of good form in the Birdwell Wheelers 10 mile time trial with a time of 23.27. Matt Carter turned luck on its head to finish 13th in the Stow Market & District CC 20 with a time of 50.00. Elsewhere on Saturday, Andy Tyler recaptured his former speed, finishing fourth in the North Norfolk Wheelers 10 in 23.25, Mark Fairhead was sixth in 24.44 and Nick Standley, riding his first ever time trial, posted an impressive 27.38.

Conditions turned chillier for Sunday’s Wisbech Wheelers 10 with the first riders beginning in temperatures as low as 1 degree. Ray Turner finished with a time of 26.41, former CCB rider Danny Watkins now riding for Anglia Velo, missed out on a top 10 place by four seconds in 24.08, and Stephen Penney, also now Anglia Velo, finished in 33.22.

Entry is open for the Summer Thunder Enduro at Thetford Forest on June 30. The event has three distances: 6, 8 or 10 hours, with Solo and Pair categories. More information can be found British Cycling website. The CCB club seasonstarts with a 5-mile time trial from Scoulton village hall at 6.45pm on April 4. The event is open to anyone, of any ability.
