The 16-year-old started off early in the field and posted a time of 20.44mins, a new personal best time over 10 miles, averaging 28.9mph.

The championship attracted the country’s top time triallists from all over the UK. Winning the event was Drag2Zero’s Matthew Bottrill in an incredible 17.40mins, just two seconds ahead of An-Post Chain Reaction Sean Kelly rider Ryan Mullen with In-Gear Quickvit Trainsharp RT multi-champion Michael Hutchinson rounding of the podium with a time of 17.53.

Locally, Breckland veterans Chris Nudds, Michael Wood and Nick Paravanni raced in the Stowmarket and District 10-mile event on the A14 course near Risby.

Nudds posted a time of 23.14, Wood 24.05 and Paravanni 26.05. The event was won by Cambridge CC Ride David McGaw in a time of 20.35
