THETFORD Independents Ladies played in the Cambridge FA football festival. With two wins, two draws and one loss, Indies only conceded one goal all day, but just missed out on the semi-finals, although being one player short due to illness. Goals from Jules Brind, Carys Jones and Kristy Harris, and great displays from Steph Hughes, Joanna Fernandes and Bernie Bray contributed to an enjoyable day.
Indies cheekily presented Arsenal Ladies and England star Alex Scott (pictured, centre) with an invitation to their club five-a-side tournament July 12 and 13, asking if she had some friends to get a team up.
Indies are seeking players for next season.
