Champion feeling for bowler Jackie

Thetford Ladies beat Wymondham Dell 60-47 (62). Scores: J Shepherd, J Gibson, P Struthers won 6-12; C Branch, P Thorpe, V Gibson won 23-11; M Crisp, T Scott, G Holbrook lost 11-24.

Jackie Gibson became Norfolk Ladies' Singles Champion when she beat Brenda Whitehead from Norfolk Bowling Club. After a nail-biting battle, Jackie came out on top 21-19.

A Thetford BC spokesperson said: “Well done Jackie, from all the club members.”

The Men's A team beat Wymondham C 58-53 (4-1) to stay top of the league. Scores: T Bingham, J Downie, A Stevenson, D Betts lost 18-21; T Lamb, M Holbrook, A Smith, M Struthers won 21-19; B Mosby, J Gardner, A Byford, P Scott won 19-13.

Against Shipdham at home they went down 64-67 (1-4). Scores: T Lamb, M Holbrook, A Smith, M Struthers lost 17-24; B Mosby, J Gardner, A. Byford, P Scott lost 18-20; T Bingham, J Downie, A Stevenson, D Betts won 29-23.
